'It's tough to make that match again' - It doesn't look like Aldo will get his McGregor rematch soon

It appears Jose Aldo might be sitting outside the octagon for some time to come.

AFTER STATING YESTERDAY that he would refuse any fight other than a Conor McGregor rematch, it appears former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will be left waiting.

Aldo, of course, was knocked out by McGregor in just 13 seconds as he suffered his first UFC defeat and first loss in any form of MMA in over a decade.

The nature of that loss, as well as the fact he pulled out of a previous engagement with McGregor through injury, has left UFC president Dana White reluctant to give the Brazilian a rematch.

“It’s one of those things; we made the fight the first time and he got hurt and had to pull out,” White said in an interview with Opie & Jim Norton.

“Then we made it again, and it ended in 13 seconds. It’s tough to make that fight again right away. Plus, Conor wants to be a two-belt champion, so he wants to fight dos Anjos.”

And White said that Aldo is far from alone in wanting a bout with The Notorious as everyone in the UFC knows how much they can make from it.

The problem is that’s what everyone from flyweight to heavyweight is saying now that they all want to fight Conor McGregor. He’s the money fight.”

Despite Dana White saying ‘he’s done’, reports suggest GSP is about to make his comeback

McGregor’s lightweight title fight will now be at UFC 196 but it’s just the name that’s changed
